Girls reunion weekend!!

Life has a funny way of changing so quickly without any warning. If you are blessed with good friends though, it can go as fast as it wants and not make a difference to the bond you have.

Last weekend, 6 of my girls came to stay for a big reunion since we haven't spent time all together in about 3 years. A lot has happened in those 3 years (3 of us got married!) but even though all of our lives have carried on without each other, we are all still as close as ever. We picked up right where we left off which I think is definitely a sign of deep rooted friendship.

Everyone arrived late Friday afternoon and we all chatted and chatted for hours (as girls do) and ordered A LOT of take out food (as girls do). We were up until the early hours of the morning catching up and filling each other in on all our goss while eating our weight in calories (as girls do).

On Saturday, we leisurely got ready (again, as girls do) and then decided on a whim to drive to Blackpool for a day out. I definitely think that the best times are had when there are no set plans. Spontaneity has got to be the best thing in the world.

After what seemed like a million attempts to take a picture of us all jumping in the air (don't know why we tried so hard?) we called it a day, got some hot, sugary doughnuts for the road, which were sprinkled with cinnamon (*insert love heart eyed emoji*). We stopped off to get some ice cream then took a walk around the temple grounds. I say walk, but we actually ended up running back to the cars after 5 minutes as the rain started. The rest of the afternoon was spent napping with Dispicable Me on in the background.
Once all of the seaside air was out of system, we got ourselves ready and headed out to dinner for a pizza and pasta feast! Carbs really are a girls best friend.

Saturday night was another late one and the chatting, gossiping and ice cream eating lasted well into the early hours of Sunday morning.

On Sunday we all said our goodbyes and took a million self timed photos that all look like a blur (thanks camera).

Safe to say we won't be waiting another three years until our next girls weekend.

Xx
