I have been wanting white bedsheets for a good few months now and found THESE lovely ones in M&S that were just what I was looking for. Our bed is probably my favourite piece of furniture in our home so I like it to feel clean and fresh all the time. Having new sheets makes all the difference to me- climbing into bed after I put these sheets on was pure heaven! I am definitely a nester and love to add homely touches to every room. Buying little bits and pieces for our home is on par with buying new clothes!
A few tips to help keep your sheets feeling fresh:
1. Wash them regularly, weekly if possible, to remove dirt and dust. We were told when buying our bed that people lose a whole litre of sweat EVERY night whilst asleep. (Disgusting if true)
2. Take them out of the dryer just before they're bone dry to reduce wrinkles but make sure to iron them. This is personal preference but I don't like sleeping on crushed sheets. Nicely pressed sheets are worth the annoyance of ironing if you ask me!
3. Make your bed every day. Getting into an unmade bed at the end of the day just isn't right. Practise what your mum taught you all those years ago growing up and neaten those sheets before you leave the house.
4. Pillows, pillows, pillows. I like to "decorate" our bed with pillows to make it look more pleasing. Josh thinks they're pointless and complains almost every night when he throws them onto the floor, but his objections fall upon deaf ears. They look nice and thats that. I got these ones from The Range so they were really cheap. The good thing about finishing touches is that you don't need to spend a lot on them!

I want pillows too but Sam won't let me. They just don't understand our love for those finishing touches :)
ReplyDeleteYou seriously have the best style ever, Shelley! I absolutely love your bed and bedside tables! We're moving house soon and i've been searching online for ages trying to find a bed / headboard similar to yours, as well as bedside tables like yours and I'm seriously struggling... I was wondering where you got yours from? Or if you know of any good stores / websites that I should check out? Thanks in advance for your help! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimee! We got our bed from one of those big bed stores (I don't remember the exact one!) but you can buy big padded headboards online separately and them attach them to your existing bed. Our bedside tables are from Ikea :) I love Home Sense when looking for little bits for our apartment! Happy shopping!! xx
DeleteThat's brilliant! Thanks so much! xxx
