Bank holiday weekend.

I have been looking forward to going back to normality and been craving the feeling of being busy again, but now that I'm back into my routine of placements and college i wish i had a few more days off. Anyone else relate to that? How typical.

We have had such a lovely Easter weekend with Josh's side of the family which was the perfect way to end half term. Here is a little snap shot of what we got upto...

Good Friday
Most of the family headed to Conwy for the day on a bit a of a whim. I've never been to Wales before and the weather was forecast to be pretty nice which was a bonus as we were planning on heading to the beach for the day.
The guys took most of the kids for rides on the family boat which they all loved. It would've have been sunbathing weather if it wasn't so windy but you can't expect too much from Britain. When it's sunny, us Brits know to make the most of it because we all know how rare these days are.
After being at the beach for a good few hours, we headed into to the town centre and located the nearest chippy to have an early dinner. You can't go to the beach and not eat fish & chips. Everyone knows that.
Some of us also got ice cream to finish the day off nicely then we headed home all a bit pink cheeked and feeling tired from all the fresh air.
The pictures were taken on my i phone so not the best quality!

Saturday
We spent the day just the two of us and headed into Manchester for some lunch. The weather wasn't unto much so we ditched our plans to have a wander around the town and just came home after we ate. The rest of our afternoon was spent having 40 winks which was nice and relaxing. Just what saturdays are for.

Easter Sunday
Actually, this was a bit of a let down. We went all the way to church only to come straight back again because I wasn't feeling very good. Such ashame because I was really looking forward to focusing on the things I'm grateful for and the real meaning of Easter. If you haven't already watched the #becauseofhim video that has been circling social media then you can watch it HERE. It really gives me goosebumps and makes my heart swell. So so thankful!
For our Easter dinner, Josh madee his very first lasagne and i was impressed! My boy did good (although he did use jars of sauce) Regardless- it tasted good. It looks burnt in the picture but trust me, the cheese on top was perfectly crispy.
Later that evening we picked Scarlett up and headed over to Josh's sisters house for a big family get together. There were lots of Easter treats, gorgeous homemade focaccia and lovely company :) No one ever thinks to take pictures when these sort of things happen so no piccys from that night.

Bank holiday Monday
We spent the whole afternoon at Tatton park which involved laying out in the sun, kids playing in the park, boys kicking a footie around and me eating too many kettle chips (standard. I can never stop).

The weather was so gorgeous which made regret my outfit choice of jeans and a jumper. Thats another thing about us Brits- we can never dress appropriately for the day ahead because we never know what they weather is going to be like. When we left in the morning it was cloudy for miles! Nevermind, it was still a really lovely afternoon all round. When we got home, me and Scarlett grabbed our cozzies and went swimming while josh went to the gym.
All the fun had to end eventually so Scarelett ended her day by watched Sleeping Beauty whilst sipping hot chocolate, eyes rolling and all. A four year old can only have so much fun in one day.

So what is the result of such a busy weekend you ask? An unorganised house with dishes in the sink and mess everywhere. Just what you want to come home to after the first day back to work!
I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend like we did :)

Xx
