If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that I started a the Bootea "teatox" on Monday in the run up to Dubai next week. I'm always really curious about what other people eat on a day to day basis (sad, I know) and love when I get ideas from other people so thought I'd share my meal plan for those of you who are like minded like me! Just keep in mind that I'm no expert or nutritionalist so there may be things on here that you don't agree with, but they worked for me and my body!
I am normally pretty sensible when it comes to what I eat but I can't sit here and go on about how much goodness I put into my body at all times because that would just be lying. I have my bad days that turn into bad weeks where I completely fall off track and eat whatever I want. I may not put on weight straight away but I definitely pay for it in other ways. My skin gets bad, I feel bloated 24/7 and just overall rubbish about myself. Eating unhealthy just isn't worth it for me and I always regret making poor choices which is why I try really hard to eat well. It isn't about looking good or "being skinny", its about knowing whats in the food I eat and being healthy.
Health and nutrition is something I love to research and read about and I like to try different foods to see what works with my body. I have felt really good this week after making a conscious effort to "detox" and eat as clean as possible so here is what I ate Monday - Friday:
Everything on this eating plan was inspired from other meal plans such as the Kayla Itsines H.E.L.P plan (which can be found HERE) and the Bootea Teatox meal plan (which can be found for free HERE). The Bootea Teatox really boosted everything and helped me see more of a difference. Being a woman I'm of course never 100% happy with how my body looks but I'm working on it. No one is perfect!!
My top tips are:
- Drink a lot of water! Flavour it with fruit to keep it interesting.
- Have everything ready to go and planned out to avoid reaching for junk out of convenience. Making bigger batches of soup and salads and keeping them in the fridge really helped when I didn't have time to cook
- Stay positive and keep on track even when you want to binge!
- Exercise! Its so important to stay active. There were so many times during the week when I could not be bothered but I pushed myself and felt great afterwards. I even dragged myself to the gym at 10pm one night because I procrastinated so much and that was one of favourite workouts of the week!
- Enjoy the food you're eating. If you don't like whats on your plate then you're going to be/feel miserable!

If anyone has any questions or is interested in recipes/ingredients then leave me a comment below or send me a quick email (shelley.cook@hotmail.com) I had a TON of questions (and still do) when I was reading all sorts of different things on other peoples blogs.
