If knee high boots, apple picking and a pumpkin spice hot chocolate doesn't scream the start of October then I don't know what does!
We rustled up a little list of different Autumnal activities we'd like to do over the next month or so and the one that seemed to excite a giddy almost-7-year-old the most was apple picking, so off we trotted to a nearby fruit farm to check it off our list!
In true British fashion, the morning started bright and crisp while we got ready and then as soon as we left the house and jumped in the car, the sky turned grey and the drizzle dampened our moods. But as soon as we arrived, we decided to make a mad dash for it and run around the little apple orchard, picking the best looking apples for our crumble. We also came across some pumpkins that I insisted on getting to decorate the house with so all chose one that resembled each family member (we now have 4 pumpkins varying in size, Indies being the cutest little one I've ever seen!)
All in all, our start to October was a success and we definitely started as we mean to go on. I can't wait to cross the other activities off our list and hopefully turn some into long lasting traditions. Apple picking is definitely something we enjoyed as a family and will do again! Scarlett loved baking with the fruit she had picked and scoffed one too many portions of it over the weekend (oh well, you only live once!)
Happy Autumn everyone! Let me know what you like to do with your families at this time of year- We'd love to add more ideas on to our list!
SLC x
Love it! Glamping is a good one or go to the woods and make a fire from scratch
