Musicals.

We went to see "Singing in The Rain" last week at the Opera House in Manchester and I loved every minute of it. When josh told me that he got us tickets, I was pleased, not particularly excited to watch it but pleased because he had gone out of his way to plan a special date night for us. Even when he told me it was two and a half hours long, I didn't mind. I was just looking forward to doing something we've never done together and that was going to the theatre. I've never really been particularly keen on musicals. I never liked the OTT cheeriness, the dramatising of every single movement or the random outburst of singing. I've never seen Mary Popins or The Sound of music or Phantom of The Opera. But I think I'm slowly being converted to them.

It was such a fun night! I loved the story line- it was romantic and funny (my fav), the actors were really good and I loved the dancing! Why I never became a dancer I will never know. Everytime I watch someone dance I feel so passionate about it and wish it was me (if they're any good that is! Ha).

Next on my list to see is definitely Les Miserables. I never knew a thing about that musical until I met Josh who knows every word. Everytime we drove to Scotland when we were dating the soundtrack would go on and josh would treat me to his very own live commentary so I got to know the story pretty well and then I fell in love with the film. I think you have to be in the right mood to watch it though as it is pretty long and has some hard scenes to watch. I definitely want to see it on stage though(Hint, hint!). I love going on special little dates and love our traditions we have already (like always getting a milkshake from McDonalds after we go to the temple to end the night, or buying the exact same treats from Tesco every time we have a movie night). I love dating my husband. We go on some great dates. I definitely recommend watching this if you live near Manchester, its a nice feel good show and always nice to do something a bit fancy during the week!
