Valentines weekend

To me, there is nothing better than spending a few days away with your other half. Luckily i have a husband who knows this about me and planned for us to go to London for two nights just after valentines day.

Some people love it and others hate the commercialism of valentines day but i am 100% the former! I love the concept of showing expressions of love on a particular day. The world needs more of this good stuff!

I woke up early to surprise Josh with lots of little love notes and stuck them on our bathroom mirror in the shape of a heart and he surprised me with a dozen gorgeous red roses. Why are women such suckers for a bit of romance?

My mum had been staying for a few days but was leaving that afternoon so we said our goodbyes and then headed out to buy some food for dinner as Josh wanted to cook for me (there is a first for everything!!) While he slogged away in the kitchen I took a nice long bubble bath. He went to so much effort to make my favourite meal and it turned out ah-mazing! Now that he's proved how good of a cook he is, theres no excuse not to do it more often! haha.
We spent the rest of the evening snuggling in front of the TV, catching up on trashy shows we like to watch during the week. It was nice to have a low key night in our PJ's since we hadn't spent a lot of time together that week as me and mum were busy doing girly things.

On Sunday afternoon we headed to London for valentines day part two. We stayed at The Landmark Hotel in Marylebone which was beautiful.

We were really looking forward to spending the day in central London on Monday as we planned to go up the London Eye which neither of us had done before. In true British fashion though, the weather was a bit dull and cloudy but luckily it didn't ruin any views. Afterwards we did a bit of shopping on Oxford Street and then made a quick dash back to out hotel to freshen up for dinner.

We decided to eat at this really relaxed BBQ place in Soho for dinner which was SO GOOD. Just thinking about my pulled pork sandwich is making my mouth water. Definitely pay a visit to Bodean's next time you're in London! You won't regret it. (Unless of course you're a vegetarian then maybe go somewhere else. This place is definitely one for the meat lovers!)

After we had eaten, we hopped on a tube to Victoria to get to The Apollo Theatre as we had tickets to watch Wicked. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. Such a good story line and the songs are brilliant! We listened to the soundtrack for most of the way home.

We left a very blue skied London (typical) around midday on Tuesday and headed back up north after spending the best few days together. Quality time is everything. Its even better when its shared with the person you love the most.

Thanks for a very memorable valentines trip! Can't wait to see what you pull out of the bag next year ;) haha. Everyone should have a Josh.

Hope you all had a lovely day/weekend filled with lots of LOVE!!

xxx
